Full Name:
Sara Sidle
Age:
34
Level:
CSI Level 3
Height:
5"8
Weight:
107 lb
Date of Birth:
September 16, 1971
Education:
B.S. in Physics, Harvard
Also, UCBerkley
Special Skills:
Materials & Element Analysis
Place of Birth:
Tamales Bay, California
Marital Status:
Single, but in love
Background:
Attended graduate school in theoretical physics. Worked in the San Francisco coroner’s office for five years, then transferred to the San Francisco crime lab before being contracted by Gil Grissom to come to Las Vegas.
Bio:
Although she's not married, and seems to have no current boyfriend, she is a member of the Mile High Club. That means she had sex in an airplane at an altitude of over one mile. It was on Delta flight #1109, Boston to Miami, in March of '93 with Ken Fuller (hazel eyes, organic chem lab major) and she told Grissom that the experience was overrated... in every aspect. She does have a fair few admirers, whom she keeps at a distance: Dave Phillips, Greg Sanders, Nick Stokes (though it hasn't been so obviously hinted at); Hank (he was a jerk) and a Ken Fuller whom we never met and only heard mentioned.
Like Grissom, she's not as keen to deal with live people as she is with corpses. At first she did not want to handle Brenda Collins, the child survivor of a family massacre, but as time wore on, she came to care about the little girl, and the little girl trusted Sara.
Sara is very forthright in her attitude, and that can rub people the wrong way. She even butted heads with Catherine when they first met and had to work together on the Holly Gribbs case, but as they got to know each other, they've become good friends.
Like any tragic figure worth their salt, Sara has a single flaw: people. She can solve any problem except for the problem of other people and how she’s supposed to relate to them. So she hides in the job. She pursues her career rigorously, perhaps more so than any of the other CSIs. Partly because she’s still rebelling against her parents’ “lax” approach to social obligations, and partly because she’s afraid of what she’d find out about herself if she ever slowed down.
