Stella continued to struggle, pleading silently to be free of this nightmare world and she could slowly feel herself slipping back there. Her struggling stopped as she relaxed, eagerly accepting the world she now saw as a reality as it came closer, feeling like she was just about to wake up from the bad dream. She gradually slumped against Nick as she was dragged closer to that open door where her happy life waited. The doctor from earlier rushed in and saw Stella was out-of-it, and that they were about to lose her again, and quickly got a shot ready before she slipped away completely. He'd only seen this kind of case once before, but it was hard to mistake and he just prayed it ended differently. The last patient had gone into a permanent catatonic state and hadn't recovered. It was psychological and the petient created a whole different world in their mind, maybe the world they had lived in before something terrible had happened to them in reality, so they'd slipped into a dream-world in which everything seemed perfectly real and they soon found it hard to differentiate between reality and their dream, but started to believe reality was the fake world. If they became too far gone, they'd give up every tie to reality and fall into a permanent coma. The only way to get them to come back around was reasoning. Dr. Roberts' last patient had been put into a mental institution where they were able to communicate with her much better, having the training and such to be able to do that. So he was now wondering if that would be best for Stella. Because they needed to act, and fast. ((Yeah, it went alright, had my bloods done. Having the ECG next week. ))

(aww, scary! Good luck!)
"STELLA!" Nick screamed, shaking her as he felt her slumped against his body. "STELLA, WAKE UP, RIGHT NOW!" he yelled over and over again, trying to wake her up, but afraid of hurting her. "PLEASE, YOU HAVE TO BE OKAY! PLEASE! SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING!" Nick hyterically shouted, glancing down at his wife.
Stepping away from her, Nick ran over to the doctor, staring at him. "Please, you have to help my wife! Do something! I can't live without her!"

"Sir, please calm down. I've had a case like this before, I know what I'm doing."
Roberst said as calmly as he could, approaching Stella and giving her a shot as smoothly as possible. She stopped shaking and struggling against something neither of them could see and slumped back in the bed, her eyes rapidly blinking as if trying to adjust to where she was. Darting around the room, her eyes finally fell on the devastated Nick and a frightened looking Sara stood by the door. A whimper escaped her lips and she started mumbling pleas to leave this nightmare behind her. She desparately wanted to be back in the "real world" yet these people - she refused to believe her Nick would want to keep her trapped somewhere that terrified her - kept pulling her back and locking her out of the safe world.

"Stella," Nick whispered, quickly moving back to her bedside. "Stella, it's me, Nick. I love you, sweetheart, but I need you to focus on my voice," he quietly said, wrapping his arms tightly around her body. "Please, just focus on my voice. I know that you're scared, honey, but Sara and I are here for you. We're here for you, Stella, and we're not leaving," he continued, gently rubbing her back. "Please, just come back to me... please..."
Nick was terrified that Stella would not snap back to reality; that she was too far gone, and that she had no idea what was going on. Nik was scared... he had never seen anyone behave how she was behaving, and he was afraid that he was losing his wife forever... regardless of what his doctor said.

Stella felt his arms this time and a part of her clung to that bit of comfort and she let her arms wrap around his neck, squeezing her eyes closed as tears slid down her cheeks. She was so frightened and so sick of fighting just to feel something other than pain.
"Nick, I want to go back..."
She whispered brokenly, trying to keep out the images of the happy life she was being kept from. They were too painful to see right now. She wanted her kids and her husband and her happy life back. Feeling a sharp pain in her stomach, she frowned and pulled away from Nick to look down at her abdomen in confusion. Looking from the doctor to Nick for some kind of explanation she sucked in a sharp breath, clutching her stomach.
"W-what's happening...?"

"That's right, Stella," Nick whispered, as he felt her arms circling his neck. "That's right, sweetheart. Just focus on me, and come back to us. Just focus on the real world, and everything is going to be okay... we're going to make sure that everything is going to be okay," he said over and over again, hoping that his words held some sort of truth. And in his mind, they did, until Stella's body contorted into something that looked extremely painful.
"What's going on?" he immediately asked the doctor, a wild look in his eyes. "Is the baby okay? Is my wife okay? What's going on?!"

The doctor managed to keep the alarmed look off his face and pressed the button by the side of the bed to call for help. Almost immediately, more doctors, some interns, rushed into the room, saying different jumbled phrases in medical-talk to each other. Stella cried out in pain again before she suddenly went rigid and her eyes rolled back as she fell into a seizure. The doctors held her so that she wouldn't hurt herself and one of them administed some drugs via a shot. At first it didn't look like it helped but after a moment she slowly stopped fitting and went weak, unconscious as they rolled her out of the room quickly.
"What's happening?! Someone please tell us what's wrong with my sister!"
Sara practically yelled and one of the interns took pity on Sara and Nick, stepping out of the chaos to explain.
"We're taking her in surgery straight away. We're not sure exactly what's going on yet and we won't know until we get her in there. This could be the baby fighting the drugs she was administered but that's only a slight possibility. It wouldn't generally cause this kind of reaction for the mother. Someone will explain things better to you once we know what is actually going wrong."

"No," Nick yelled, reaching a hand out to the intern. "Someone will explain to us right now what is going on with my wife!" he said, beginning to completely panicking. "If this isn't the type of reaction that the mother would typically have, then what he hell is she reacting to?" he continued, frowing, as the intern simply shookk his head, and walked out of the room.
Once they were alone again, Nick sadly looked up at Sara. "Damn it," he whispered, burying his head in his hands. "Damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it. My wife is hurt, and I don't know what to do about it. I just want to kiss her, and to be with her, and I can't do either of those things, becaus she's..." dying, or something.

Sara cut him off, shaking her head, pain evident as her voice hitched.
"Don't say it...don't say she's dying Nick, 'cause you're tempting fate....we can't lose her..."
She finished in a whisper, covering her mouth as the reality of possibly losing her sister hit her. She felt like her legs were going to buckle underneath her so she reached out a hand for the wall to steady herself. Everything was crumbling around them and she just wanted to shelter her neices and nephew from it all, as well as Nick and Stella herself of course. But it was impossible and all she could do was watch helplessly, unable to come up with any words of comfort for her best friend and brother-in-law as the love of his life, Sara's own sister, slipped away a little every second whilst the meds tried their best to save both mother and baby.
